"Although I paint most subjects, my real passion is for architectural forms especially shown in interesting lighting positions - moonlight or strong artificial and subdued being the most powerful.

I tend not to use brushes as I prefer palette knives and fingers. This gives me a rich, luscious impasto texture which sometimes approaches a surface sculpture. Intriguing sometimes to see my finger prints in the paint.

I have painted subjects from many countries which is a result of my extensive travels around the globe during the past 20 years.

When I work on commission it is usually for atmospheric views of hotels, restaurants, houses, offices and even street scenes.

Even though my studio is located in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside my subject matter tends to features city and urban areas. My next project will be a series of paintings featuring night life around Canary Wharf."
