JANNY MEYER
B. 1938. Netherlands
Janny Meyer was born on the 25th July 1938 in Andijk, a small
village in the Netherlands.
She spent her childhood on her family farm, an inspiration featured
in much of her work. Since then her paintings have evolved from
the sketches she drew of the chickens and ducks on her parent’s
farm.
During frequent visits to Paris Janny introduced detailed city
views into her portfolio. These colourful detailed paintings capture
those aspects, which are now but fading memories of a bygone era.
The topographical scenes include period transport such as cars,
trams and buses.
It was later in life that she received painting tuition from
Jan Visser and H.F Boot, two renowned artists from Haarlem, Holland.
Janny Meyer has become a very successful artist, with galleries
throughout Europe exhibiting her work.
The Colomb Art Gallery currently
has a number of original oil paintings by Janny
Meyer
