Born and trained in the north of England, Deborah Poynton travelled and worked in Europe and Africa before settling in Dorset. This is where her artistic gift developed and much of her work was first exhibited and sold. What Poynton finds most stimulating to paint are those fleeting occasions when nature and the elements combine to form such an impact of beauty, either the wide sweep of a tranquil river, or an intimate close-up look at poppies among the corn stalks. She is also a member of the Society of Floral Painters.
